Dr. Robert Eugene Huettner DDS, 78, Omaha, passed away Monday, April 25 , 20ll, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Bob was born in Falls City Oct. 2, l932, the son of Walter and Ruth (Smith) Huettner.

As a young boy, he enjoyed playing basketball, taking Boy Scout trips to Indian Cave State Park and working at various jobs during his high school days.

He graduated from Falls City High School in l950, then graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont in l954 and Creighton University College of Dentistry in l957.

Bob enlisted in the Navy and served his country until l958. He was stationed at Bremerton, WA, Kodiak, Alaska, and Point Mugu, CA. He married Barbara Babcock on Dec. 2l, l957, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Omaha. After his service in the Navy, he and Barb settled closer to their families in Omaha, where he established his dental practice in l962.

Bob enjoyed playing golf and racquetball, sailing, keeping up the cabin in Minnesota and attending the Omaha Symphony. He was part of a Bible Study group, an exercise group and his breakfast and lunch groups. He was an avid fan of the Cornhuskers and New England Patriots.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Richard Ketter.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, and children, Beth and Mark Olsen of Columbus, Mark and Shawn Huettner, Cave Creek AZ, and Jennifer and David Giudice of Fairfield, CT; l0 grandchildren and his beloved dog Cooper.

Funeral services were held April 28 at Lutheran Church of the Master in Omaha.

There was a private internment. Memorials are suggested to the church or Immanuel Lutheran School, Columbus.
