She lived in Overbrook for ten years as well as Lyndon for ten years, moving back to Topeka, where she was raised. She attained a Bachelor s Degree from Washburn University in Human Services, a feat she was very proud of after being told that her learning disability would hold her back. Beverly was a drug and alcohol counselor for Mirror Inc. Counseling in Lawrence, Kansas.
Beverly was united in marriage with Billy Bame on May 27, 1978 at the First Christian Church of Overbrook, Kansas. They shared over thirty-four years of loving marriage together. Billy survives of the home.
She is also survived by two children: Jennifer Marie Dillard and her husband, Demetrius, of Topeka, Justin Allen Bame and his spouse Mickey Dee Barnett, of Topeka, Kansas; three brothers, Tony Roberts of Vassar, Kansas, Jeff Roberts of Salina, Kansas, Terry Roberts of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Deshawn McClelland and Nevaeh Dillard, both of Topeka.
She is preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the United Methodist Church of Overbrook. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery, Overbrook. Mrs. Bame will lie in state at the United Methodist Church of Overbrook from 5 p.m. Monday to the visitation hour. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8:00 Monday evening at the church.
