Mr. Paul Morgan, 82, 374 White River Road, Rockmart, died Wednesday, October 4 at his residence. He was born May 6, 1913 in Bartow County, was a retired Deputy Polk County tax commissioner, a member of the Rockmart First United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II and a member of the Davitte Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Williams Morgan. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anne Mitchell Morgan of Rockmart; three daughters, Mrs. Paula Darden of Newnan, Mrs. Lynne Cone of Stone Mountain, Mrs. Terri Richard of Acworth; two grandsons, Paul Madison Darden of Newnan an Joseph Morgan Hendryx of Stone Mountain. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7 from the Rockmart First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Autry officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Carlton, Max Mason, Bob Harper, Tom Statham, Ralph Meek and J.R. Woods. Honorary pallbearers were E.C. Sanders, W.M. (Dub) Barrow, Robert Smith, John Parker, Howard Thomas, Jim Logan, Turner Brookshire, Joe Maddox, Findley Wiggins, W.J. Wiggins, Mark Daws and Fred Braswell.
