Rev. Orville Ray Lamper, Enfield Ill., died at his home Dec. 18, 1948 at 4 p.m. He was a native of Allegan County, Mich., where he was born Feb. 23, 1888, son of John and Sarah Jane (Lloyd) Lamper; and at death, aged 60 years, 9 months, and 15 days. He was married to Hazel Hunneman, in Allegan County, Mich., who with one son, Ezra and a brother, Justin, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his father, of Newberry, Mich.; six children, Neil S. Lamper, Chicago; David Sheldon Lamper, Petrolia, Texas; Joanne Margaret Loeffler, Allendale; John Edgar Lamper, Chicago; Wealthy Leona Priano, Chicago; and Richard Lee Lamper, in the U.S. Service. There are also four sisters, May Hess, Pullman, Mich; Eunice Story, Newberry, Mich., Pearl Payne, Macomb, Ill.; and Wealthy Johnson, Elk Rapids, Mich. There are also seven grandchildren.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church and held the pastorate of the Wabash church in Wabash County from 1931-1939. He has been located at Enfield for the past two years.
Reverend Lamper was brought to the Roy D. Short Company Funeral Home, to remain until Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, and then will be taken to the Wabash church, to lie in state, until the hour of the service, which will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday, with Rev. Dr. Earl Miller of Mount Vernon, IL., officiating. Interment will be at the Wabash Cemetery.
