Valerie Jean Kersten, 49, of 8830 W. Stuart Road, Orfordville, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996.
She was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Janesville, the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Allen) Kerl. She married Daryl R. Kersten on Nov. 11, 1967 in Janesville; he also died Sept. 15, 1996. She had been employed by Piggly Wiggly in Janesville for the past six years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Orfordville, and the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include four children: Robert (Jodi) Kersten, Brenda Kersten, Michelle Kersten and Troy Kersten, all of Orfordville; two grandsons, Dylan and Trevor Kersten of Orfordville; her mother, Gertrude Kerl of Janesville; two sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Hassinger of Janesville and Julie (Dave) Engebretson of Janesville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Kerl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at St. John Lutheran Church, Orfordville. Rev. Jeff Wild will officiate. Interment will be in Plymouth Cemetery.
