Wilhelm Steitz, 76, died March 23,
1995, at Garden Valley Retirement
Village.

He was born Dec. 24, 1918, at
Otis, the son of Jake and Katherine
Wilhelm Steitz.

A Garden City resident since 1958, coming from
Colorado, he worked for Colorado
Interstate Gas Co., retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church, Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post No. 2279, and the Senior
Center, all at Garden City.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II.

On Oct. 12, 1951, he married
Jeanette Orth at Deerfield.

Survivors include: two sons,
Daniel, Aurora, Colo., and Paul,
Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters,
Beth Laudick, Garden City,
and Barbara Thompson, Topeka;
two brothers, Leland, La Crosse,
and Maynard, Palm Springs, Calif.;
four sisters, Verneta Healzer, Ness
City, Leona Kiel, Greeley, Colo.,
Ruby Krug, La Crosse, and Wilma
Steadman, Great Bend; and six
grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday
at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Garden City, with Pastor Vernon
Oestmann presiding.
Graveside service will be
at 3 p.m. Monday in La Crosse
Cemetery.Memorials may be sent to the
Trinity Lutheran Church Building
Fund or to Jeanne B. Corley Hospice,
both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden
City.
