Schmidt, 42, La Crosse, died Friday at the
hospital here after a six-montlh illness.
Born June 28, 1926, at La Crosse, he
was a lifetime resident.
He married Jeannie Obenhaus Oct. 17, 1947,
at La Crosse. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
A veteran of both World War II and the
Korean coiifict. he was a member: of
the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include the widow; sons, Daniel,
Dennis, Donald, Gregory, and Gary, all of
the home; brother, Raymond, La Crosse;
sister, Mrs. Dorothy Almquist, La Crosse,
Funeral wUl be 10 a.m. Monday at the church;
Pastor C. Ide. Burial will be in the La
Crosse City Cemetery, witii full miltary
