Donald Ray Makovicka was born on February 3, 1952, in Seward, Nebraska to Louis and Lucille (Krska) Makovicka and passed away on July 2, 2012, in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 29 days. Don grew up north of Seward on the home place and spent some time in Texas as a child.
He graduated from David City Aquinas high school. After graduation he farmed near Bee and raised a large amount of hogs. He later went to work at several different places including the Bee Co-op. On November 10, 1979, he was united in marriage to Wendy Elmshauser and to this union one son was born. In his past time he loved being outdoors and gardening.
Don is survived by his fiancé Betty Rerucha of Bee, NE; son Darin and wife Marina of Ogallala, NE; grandchildren, Cody and Taylor, sister, Elaine and husband Eugene Kratochvil of Seward, NE; two brothers, Eugene Makovicka of Lincoln, NE; and Ernest Makovicka and fiancé June Fecht o David City, NE; nieces and nephews, Bryan Kratochvil, Tami and Tim Svehla, Shari Hamsa, Jim and Erika Kratochvil, Tracy and Tim Sealock, James and Kim Makovicka, Cindy Makovicka, Lucas Makovicka, Jeremy Makovicka, Jonathan Makovicka, extended family, Rick and Diane Rerucha, Dave and Kathy Rerucha and Barb Rerucha.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Louis Makovicka and Lucille Behne.
