Obituary - Charles Koegel died Tuesday at his home, 40 Jennings Avenue, Patchogue. He was 77 years old and retired. He formerly resided in Center Moriches, where he and the late Orrin Conklin established the ice business.

Mr. Koegel was born in Babylon, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Koegel. In his early years in business, he owned and operated the Greenport House in Greenport for several years, then sold it and came to Patchogue.

In 1910, with Mr. Conklin he established an ice plant in Center Moriches, with which he was actively connected until his retirement about 15 years ago.

Mr. Koegel was a member of Warratta Lodge, I.O.O.F., of Center Moriches, Farragut Council Jr. O.U.A.M. of Patchogue and the Patchogue Methodist Church. He was a past grand of Warratta Lodge.

The funeral service was held this afternoon at 2:30 at the residence, with the Rev. Ernest F. Neumann, pastor of the Patchogue Methodist Church, officiating, followed by interment in Cedar Grove cemetery, Patchogue.

Mr. Koegel leaves his wife, Mrs. Esther Koegel, and five nieces and nephews.
