From the family Evangelisch church in Rottenacker, Baden-Württemberg, Germany 21-Feb-1984 (translated from German):

"Where the name Strobel comes from cannot be determined. The mother of Johann Christoph Stoll (Strobel) was not married and died on 7 Sept. 1848 as the unmarried daughter of the stocking-weaver Johann Friedrich Stoll. He was born 10 Feb. 1748 in Metzingen below Urach, Württemberg, died 31 July 1797 in Rottenacker. It is assumed that the child Johann Christoph was adopted by a Strobel family. This family must have lived elsewhere."

Married Gottliebin Bäuerle 02-May-1843 in Rattenacker.

24-Oct-2012: Johann Christoph Strobel's mother's name was Gotliebin Barbara Stoll. His wife was Gottliebin Bäuerle (Baeuerle) and reportedly either died on board ship or shortly after arrival in 1852.
