MADISON/ PLATTEVILLE - Aaron M. Bartels, age 28, of Madison, formerly of Platteville, died on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, in Waukesha County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Aaron was born on Feb. 5, 1979, in Platteville, the son of Jerry and Lorraine (McDonald) Bartels. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1997 and UW-Madison in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree. He enjoyed golf, basketball and spending time with his family and many friends. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Lorraine Bartels of Platteville; a sister, Carissa (Erin "Uppy") Updike of Sun Prairie; nephew, Caden Updike; paternal grandfather, Irv Bartels of Darlington; aunts and uncles, Jimmy and Janet McDonald of Gratiot, Joan Moore of Gratiot, Irene and Bill Graham of Shullsburg, Jerry and Dan Cullen of Darlington, Johnny and Carmen McDonald of Gratiot, Laureen and Tom Donahoe of Madison, Jim and Sheila Bartels of Hudson, Midge and Bob Steger of Darlington, Carol and Tony Schumacher of Portage, Rick Bartels of Verona, and Deb Purcell of Darlington; and many cousins and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Helen McDonald; paternal grandmother, June Bartels; and cousin, Lisa Steger. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2007, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Platteville. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville.
