Soviet General.

Originally during World War One, he fought for the Zsar before he joined the Communist party which he fought for during the Russian Civil War.

During World War Two, his command suffered major defeats by the Nazi army. By 1942, he was rallied enough support to claim Soviet victories in battle.

Took part in the Battle of Berlin where his soldiers hoisted the Victory Banner atop the Reichstag.

Awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union on May 29th, 1945.

During the Cold War, he served as chairman of the Voluntary Society for Cooperation with the Army and later of DOSAAF. From 1953 to 1957, he headed the Volga Military District.

Retired in 1960.
