She was born on August 2, 1932, in Whitehall, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Meadows. A resident of Herkimer since 1975, she first worked as a housekeeper for Dr. and Mrs. Harold Golden. She later worked as a seamstress for Herkimer Industries, retiring in 1985 after fourteen years of dedicated service.
Theresa was a member of the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph, Herkimer. She will be long remembered for her strong sense of community. She was a retired board member of the Herkimer Area Resource Center and was a member of the HARC Chorus. She was also a participant in the annual Herkimer Fishing Derby.
To all who knew her, they will never forget a warm, caring, and hopeful person with an unforgettable smile. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at HARC as well as the people in the Herkimer community.
Theresa leaves behind her dear friends, Cynthia Evans, of Utica, and Margaret Taylor; and Theresa's feline companion, Tinkerbell.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of Saint Anthony and Joseph, Herkimer. The Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery, at a time to be announced.
Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
