Written on the headstone in German is the following:
Die Erloseten des Herrn werden gen Zion
Kommen mit Jauchzen; ewige Freude wird
Uber ihrem Haupte sein, Freude und Wonne
werdensie ergreifen, und Schmerz und
Seufzen wird entflieheen.
Translated, the wording says:
Those who have been saved in the Lord will come to Zion
With joyful singing; eternal joy will be on their
Heads, joy and comfort will seize them; pain and
Sighing will flee from them.
Gravesite Details
Front and Back No names. August Berens was disinterred on October 17, 1938 and moved to Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
