After graduating from Denison H.S. in 1935, Dena worked at the Crawford County Courthouse before moving to Cedar Rapids, where she worked as a secretary at Collins Radio during WWII. In December 1945, she married the love of her life, Arthur Rossow. After living briefly in CA, they returned to Iowa and settled in Des Moines where Dena spent the rest of her life. Over the years she was a secretary for various employers, finally retiring from Sears Credit Central in 1997, just before her 80th birthday.
Dena traveled to see family all over the world. One of the highlights of her travels was a trip to Germany to visit her granddaughter and new great-grandson.
