This is such a sad tragedy. Keith and his wife were walking their dogs and Keith's dog ran away. He went after him and fell into a hole which was a hornet's nest. He was stung 48 times and as you know, he was diabetic. He broke his leg, ribs, etc., and injured several internal organs. They were so severe his body could not recover. He went into rental failure, onto dialysis, etc., but could not be saved. Life support was removed.

CLENDENON, Keith Howard age 69 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on October 21, 1942 in Greeneville, TN to the late John Glenn and Elsie Lee (Ricker) Clendenon. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline (Seal); step-sons, Daniel Kortjohn, Stephen Kortjohn, and Michael Kortjohn; daughter, Heather (Chad) Henke; grandchildren, Adam, Katelyn; step-grandchildren, David Kortjohn, Anastasia Kortjohn, Brendon Kortjohn, and Aiden Kortjohn; sister, Barbara (Gene) Shivener as well as many cousins. Keith served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He retired from University of Dayton Research Institute. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, July 29. 2012 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. Dayton, 45420. Family will receive friends from 3 PM until time of service. Contributions may be made to Animal Resource Center, 6790 Webster St., Dayton, 45414.
