Joseph P. "Pat" Brockhaus, 51, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Born October 5, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph Frank and Evelyn Miller Brockhaus. He married Pamela Marie (Haish) Adams on May 25, 1991, in DeKalb.
Pat was a sheet-metal worker and was employed by Belle Engineering in Naperville. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 219 for 25 years and was currently a member of Local 265. He was a member of the DeKalb Moose Lodge 586, American Legion Post 66 and the Knights of Columbus. Pat was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time at his cabin in Wisconsin, fishing, boating and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife Pam of DeKalb four children, Christopher Brockhaus of DeKalb, Donald Adams of DeKalb, Karshawn (Joe) Espy of DeKalb and Sheila Adams of DeKalb; a grandson, Trevor Espy; his mother, Evelyn Brockhaus of Surprise, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Jo (Frank) Gadek of Sherman, Texas, and Mary Ann (Jack) Himmelmann of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Richard (Ann) Brockhaus of Kensington, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 10, at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with Rev. Kate Feeney–Bastian officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home.
