Jerry Monroe Caldwell, 70, of Bay City passed away June 10, 2012. He was born July 16, 1941 to the late Otha Monroe Caldwell and Leslie Joan Fowler Caldwell. He grew up in Angleton, TX and attended Elementary School in Freeport and moved to Bay City in 1953. He was one of the first students at Edith Armstrong Center, which is also known as Texana Center. He was also one of the first employees at Bay City Recycling Center. He participated in Special Olympics in Bowling, Track and Field. He was a charter member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and currently a member of Vineyard Church. He loved to take vacations to Colorado, going camping and watching and attending Houston Astros games. He enjoyed attending church very much.

In addition to his parents his nephew Jerry W. Etgen and brother-in-law Marvin Etgen preceded him in death. Survivors include sisters Pauline Etgen of Bay City and Coco Caldwell of Victoria and two nephews David Etgen and Marvin Paul Etgen both of Bay City.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm until 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Cross officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Alan Caldwell, Scott Siebin, John Maliff, Bill Cross, Don Pierce and Bill Dunsworth.
