Wilmer was born on August 5, 1926 in Sheboygan, the son of Edward and Julia (Kramer) Klunk. He attended Sheboygan Central High School and served in the US Navy from 1944-52. He married the late Marilyn Kuehl in Sheboygan in October 1953. Marilyn preceded him in death in April 1996.
Wilmer worked as a mold fitter for the Kohler Co for 19 years before his retirement. Wilmer enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Klunk of Sheboygan; three sons, David Klunk of Sheboygan Falls, Don (Heidi) Klunk of Phoenix, AZ, and Dale (fiancé' Cindy) Klunk of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren; one great grandson; one brother, Marvin (Sandy) Kramer of Waupaca; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Klunk of Green Bay and Beatrice Kraatz of Sheboygan.
Wilmer was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Robin and Daniel Klunk; one grandson, Justin Klunk; and one brother, Walter Klunk.
A funeral to celebrate Wilmer's life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 3 pm on Saturday, August 4, 2012 with Rev. Donald Drollinger officiating. Military Honors will follow. Private burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
