Appleton Post Crescent, Sept. 16, 2011. Daniel Lee Hermsen, age 45, Kaukauna, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home September 2, 2011. Dan was born on April 29, 1966 in Green Bay, to the late Richard (Dick) Hermsen and Helen (LeMere) Exferd. The family moved to Lakewood, in 1968. Dan attended Wabeno elementary and high school graduating with the class of 1984. After graduating Dan moved to Kaukauna and was employed at Appleton Mills until just recently. Survivors include one daughter, Courtney, his mother and stepfather Helen and Emmett Exferd, two brothers: Reggie (Kathy) Hermsen, Pat (Suzanne) Hermsen, four sisters: Becky (Gary) Schwartz, Heidi (Dale) Missall, Amy (Dennis) Gilbertson, Kris (Lee) Desotelle, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He is further survived by one step sister, Sheri Hauch; three step brothers: Mike, Dan and Dave Exferd. Dan was preceded in death by his father, one sister, Mary McCabe, maternal and paternal grandparents. Cremation will be followed by a private memorial service. Heart of the Valley Crematory 101 N.
