Clarence Earl Stevens was born on September 17, 1923 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was the son of Minnie Ann (Hatfield) Stevens and Alfred E Stevens – to this union was born: Greal Stevens, Charlie Stevens, Gene Stevens, Calvin Stevens, Clarence Stevens, Carl Stevens, Lizzie Mae (Stevens) Long and Betty Lou (Stevens) Keeter. All are now deceased except Betty Lou, who resides in Stilwell. God called Clarence home on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Clarence was of junior high age when he declared Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church of Tahlequah. He was an avid sports fan, coach, teacher, administrator and rancher. He stated many times, "I have never awakened any day and not wanted to go to my job." He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alburtia (Conwell) Stevens of Park Hill, OK – One Son, Dr. Ron Stevens and wife Vicki of Muskogee, OK, parents of grandsons, Sean Stevens and wife Whitney of Tulsa, Jason Stevens and wife Jennifer of Welling and one great grand-daughter, Grace Stevens of Welling and many nieces and nephews. During WWII, Clarence served 4 ½ years in the Navy and 2 years as a Paratrooper, part of that time in Europe, during the Korean conflict. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Park Hill Baptist Church, Park Hill, OK with Bro. John Lee and Bro. Charles Duvall officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
