Gerald J. Baier, 65, Rt. 3, Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1990, at his home.

He was born March 19, 1924, in the town of Woodmohr to Mabel L. (Zenner) and Joseph Baier.

Gerald married Bernice Zwiefelhofer on Feb. 15, 1944, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Tilden. They had owned and operated Baier's Store and Tavern in Tilden for more than 25 years.

He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Tilden, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include, four sons, Leon (Louanne) and Robert (Wanda), both of Chippewa Falls, Anthony (Carol) of Spooner, and Michael (Kathy) of Bloomer; three daughters, Jeanne (Gary) Bowe and Patricia (Dave) Schimmel, both of Chippewa Falls, and Barbara (Larry) Hable of Bloomer, six brothers, Lionel, Norman and Gordon, all of Bloomer, Joseph and John, both of Chippewa Falls, and Thomas of Jim Falls; three sisters, Delores (Tom) Cooney and Ann (Leonard) Adrian, both of Chippewa Falls, and Carol (Kenneth) Geissler of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct 23, 1988, and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Tilden, with the Rev. William Felix officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Horan Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary together with the Catholic Order of Foresters will be said at 8:30 p.m.
