Anton J. Schindler, 77, died Wednesday at his home in Trempealeau.
He was born Dec 6, 1872, in Dyersville, Ia. In 1915 he moved to Trempealeau where he farmed until 17 years ago when he retired from farming and moved to the village. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church of Trempealeau. The Schindlers marked their golden wedding anniversary five years ago.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, William and Thomas, both of Minneapolis, and Alfred, Pepin; one daughter, Mrs. Peter (Metha) Woestman, Trempealeau ; two brothers, Henry of Dyersville, Ia; and Valentine, of Lamont, Ia; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a. m. in the St Bartholomew Catholic Church. The Rev. John Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. A rosary will be said at the home Friday at 8:30 p. m.
