"Death of Mrs. Abe Strobel.
Mrs. Laura I. Strobel, wife of Abe Strobnel, died Tuesday morning of cancer, after an illness of several months. She was a great sufferer, but patient through it all and at the end died peacefully. The funeral was attended at the home, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. E.S. Wilcox attending. Burial was in the Elk Point cemetery.

Laura I. Wynn was the daughter of Herman Wynn and was born in Virginia, June 16, 1850. She early came to this section and March 6, 1867, she married Abe Strobel at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ellen Daily in Civil Bend township. Eight children were born to them, six of whom are still living. One died in infancy and William A. died at his home near Jefferson six years ago. There are living Fred A. Strobel of Sioux City; Mrs. Lizzie Enright, Civil Bend; rs. Nellie Bartelson, Ponca, Neb,; Thomas C., Bertha R., and Madge B. Strobel, all of Elk Point. Two sisters and three brothers survive her, all of whom were able to attend the funeral except Mrs. Daily of this city, who has not yet recovered from her last winter's accident; they are Mrs. Mary Beavers and Will, Alexander and Thos. Wynn, all of Civil Bend.

Thirty-four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Strobel moved to their farm in Civil Bend from Ponca, Neb., which was their home until they moved to this city. She was a quiet, faithful, earnest mother and friend. Numerous and beautiful floral tokens were sent by her friends to testify to their appreciation and friendship. The grieving husband and family have the sincere and deep sympathy of the entire community in their great affliction and loss."
