Sara Jane Gass Alspaugh, 81, Columbus, MS, died on Thursday, Aug. 19, 1993, at Dale's Personal Care Home.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1911, in Ray County, MO, the daughter of the late Emmett and Lena Dotson Gass. She was a retired funeral director, having been in business with her late husband, Tyler B., in Polo, MO. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Polo, the Shak-Ho-Ta-Tom-A-Ha Chapter of the DAR and the Society of Boonesborough. The body will be cremated and a private burial will take place at a later date.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Hill, Columbus; a stepdaughter, Virginia Trowitch, Bradenton, FL; a grandson and a great-grandson.
A service was held on Aug. 22 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brooks officiating.
