William A. Mervine, age 48 years, died at 6:45 o'clock yesturday morning at his home in Hazle Brook following a week's illness of pneumonia. He had been employed as a superintendent for the Jeddo-Highland Coal Co. at the Hazle Brook operations.
The deceased was a former resident of Upper Lehigh and was a well known mining man, having served as foreman at the Upper Lehigh Colliery until assigned to Hazle Brook.
He was a member of the Masons and Odd Fellows, of Freeland. He was a member of Saint John's Reformed Church, Freeland. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Kester, Freeland, Edna, Violet, William, Jr., all at home.
Funeral services will be conducted in St. John's Reformed Church, Freeland, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The body will be taken to Ashland to the home of a sister-in-law Mrs. Charles Morgan, from where the interment will be made Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, burial taking place in the Fountain Springs cemetery.
