Mrs. Albert Schwanke, 70, of route 1, Valders, town of Cato, died Tuesday morning at Holy Family hospital following a lingering illness.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in the village of Valders, with the Rev. Norman Berntson officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Born Martha Krueger in 1881 in the town of Rockland, the deceased later married Albert Schwanke, following which the couple settled on a town of Cato farm.
Surviving are four sons, Ervin of Rockland, Gerhardt of Valders, and Leroy and Orman of the town of Cato; six daughters, Miss Linda Schwanke at home, Mrs. Erna Lewis and Mrs. Neoma Sprang, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Viola Drossart of Two Rivers, Mrs. Ervin Krumery of the town of Cato and Mrs. Esther McAthey of Burbank, Calif; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Berge funeral home in Valders from 3 p.m.
Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday when the body will be taken to Our Savior’s church for the afternoon services.
