Leon Franklin Turner 91 of Glasgow died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at T.J.Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Monroe County the son of the late Arthur G. and Effie Thomas Turner. Leon was an auto mechanic and owner and operator of Turner's Garage in the Gumtree community for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of South Green Street Church of Christ.

Leon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Darlene; 2 sons Jay Turner (Nancy)of Glasgow and Jeremy Turner (Sandra) of Nashville, TN; 4 grandchildren Allison Wallace (Britton)of Smithfield, KY, Whitney Gries (Ben) of Louisville, Jacob Turner (Kristin) of Nashville and Jonah Turner of Nashville; 2 great grandchildren Hudson Lee Wallace and John Benjamin Gries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Alice Turner, 6 brothers Carlos, Raymond, Escle, Buford, Lester and Clifford and 3 sisters Anna Turner, Mayme Jones and Pauline Gentry.

Funeral services were held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe County. Pallbearers were Jacob Turner, Jonah Turner, Britton Wallace, Ben Gries, Jerry Turner, Mike Emberton and David Gray
