The Forgan (OK) Advocate, January 5, 1933:

Theodore Edward KIRKHART, son of T. J. and Elizabeth KIRKHART, was born January 2, 1871, in Warren County, Ohio, and departed this life in the Liberal Hospital on December 25, 1932. He moved with his parents to Stafford County, Kansas in 1886, remaining with them until his marriage to Mary Christina BOND February 28th, 1891.

He and his wife moved near Ingersall, Oklahoma in 1893 and proved up on a claim which was their home for ten years.

To this union were born five children, Carl C. of Gate; Goldie B., who died in infancy; Earl A. of Gate; Owen Fay, who preceded her father in death four years ago and Mary Fern of Gate.

He was converted near the age of 21, and joined the Friends church, proving to be as the years came and went, a real pillar in the church.

Knowing the hardships of pioneer life in the building of a home and work of the church, he gave it loving sacrificial service to his home, the church and community. He was always interested in the children, anxious for the best for their lives.

He was a great lover of flowers.

He leaves to mourn his loss, the wife and children, seven grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie, of Gate and Egbert of Rosston; one sister, Minnie ALLEN of Santa Anna, California besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock p. m. at the Friends church Tuesday, December 27th and interment made in the Gate and Temple of Buffalo, funeral directors in charge.

Lo, round the throne a glorious band,
The Saints in countless miriads stand,
Of every tongue redeemed to God,
Arrayed in garments washed in blood.
Through tribulations great they came,
But before the cross, despised the shame,
But now, from all their labors rest
In Gods eternal glory blest.
They see the Savior face to face,
They sing the triumphs of his grace,
And day and night with ceaseless praise,
To Him their loud hosannas raise.
O, may we tread the sacred road
That holy saints and martyrs trod
Wage to the end the glorious strife,
And win like them a crowd of life.
