Steven W. "Steve" Banker, 57, Atchison, Kansas died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his residence.

Steve was born September 15, 1955 in Atchison, Kansas the son of David Benjamin and Ruth Rena Linder Banker. He attended Atchison Schools, graduating from Atchison High School in 1973.

He served in the United States Marine Corp from May 22, 1973 until his honorable discharge on May 21, 1975.

Steve formerly was employed for several years with the Arensberg's IGA Store and later with the Hardware Store. He also assisted for many years in lawnmower repair with Lawless Lawnmower.

He was a former member of American bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE). His statement would be, to all my friends, we partied hard , we partied good, I would like all of you to keep doin what ya do. I'll be waitin for ya on the other side, Banker!

Survivors include his companion Kathy Roles, Atchison, KS, two sons, Gary B. Banker, Portland, ME, Andrew J. "Andy" Banker, Portland, ME, a sister, Kay Wolfe, Atchison, KS, two brothers, David Banker, Nortonville, KS, Bill Banker, Nortonville, KS and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chuck Banker.

The body has been cremated. It was Steve's wish that with his passing, for all his family and friends to embrace life and celebrate to the full extent. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
