On April 28, 1947, he married Rose NONEMAN, at Zion Lutheran Church, Marshall, with his father officiating.

He graduated from Marshall High School in 1927. He entered Concordia Seminary at Springfield, Ill., in the fall graduating in 1934 after one year of internship in Firmville, Va. After his ordination on July 31, 1934, he was called as assistant to his father in Marshall; and in October 1936 he received a call from the Michigan District to take over the St. Paul congregation in Hillsdale. He was installed on the second Sunday of November 1948 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sturigs, which was then located at 223 N. Maple St. The present church, 400 S. Lakeview, was built and dedicated in April 1953. HEIDENREICH served the church and community in several capacities including Pastoral Counselor more than 20 years; Chairman of the College Counselors of the Michigan District 10 years; Pastoral Advisor of the Michigan District of the Lutheran Laymen’s League 10 years; and he was a frequent preacher at the Arcadia Retreats of the Lutheran Layman’s League. For more than 35 years, he was the speaker for “The Christ of the Bible” broadcast over WSTR Radio Station, Sturgis. He was a member of the Sturgis Ministerial Association, the City of Sturgis Planning Board, the City of Sturgis Cemetery and Parks Board, the Sturgis Labor-Management-Relations Conference Board, and a 40 year member of the Sturgis Kiwanis Club.
