Lillian Parry was the first Alderman and Deputy Mayor in the City of Lethbridge. She served on City Council from 1952 to 1957 opening the doors for more woman to be elected to Council. Lillian took formal nurse training at Vancouver General from 1922-1926 and returned to Lethbridge to join the Nursing Mission. She served as an Army Nurse in the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Medical Army Corps (RCAMC) attaining the rank of Lieutenant. She was an advocate for the establishment of the Lethbridge Health Unit as a city department.
