Loss F. Gutberlet, 81, Marietta Rt. 5, died at 1:25 a.m. today in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 12,* 1889, in Washington County, a son of the late John and Caroline Mercer** Gutberlet. He married Clara C. Strickler, who died May 20, 1960. Four sons and one daughter survive: Earl Gutberlet, True Gutberlet and Clyde Gutberlet, all of Rt. 5; Larry Gutberlet, with whom he made his home and Mrs. Dale (Margaret) Cline, Devola. There are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister survive, Guy Gutberlet of Rt. 5, Ray Gutberlet, Marietta, and Mrs. Lawrence (Daisy) Prunty of Whipple Rt. A son, Dean, and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Mr. Gutberlet was a retired oil field worker and had also been employed by the Ohio Dept. of Highways. He was a member of the Non-digressive Church of God.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Doudna & McClure Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
