Grace was baptized with the name Crescentia Johanna Jaeger, honoring her paternal grandmother Crescentia Jaeger but she was always called Grace. She and husband Peter Baker, married in 1923, had ten children together. They were farmers in the Lidgerwood, ND area living 3.5 miles northwest from town in Grant Township along Cty 17 for some of those years. Later in life, Grace was noticed as a quiet, attractive lady with refined manners that belied somehow the fact she had been a busy farm wife and mother of ten children.
