Vincent C. Waller, 53, of West Newton, formerly of London, England, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Aug. 3, 1959, in England, son of the late George A. and Audrey J. (Gould) Waller. Vince was currently employed as chief of police at Penn State Greater Allegheny Campus located in McKeesport and a patrol officer for the city of Monongahela. Chief Waller was well-educated in law enforcement and was very proud to have served the following communities: Forward Township, West Newton, Smithton, city of Clairton, Pitt Greensburg Campus, South Connellsville, Vanderbilt and Everson Departments for the past 20 years. He was known to his officers on the force as "Mate". He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 205 in White Oak. He was a certified firearms instructor and also a member of the White Oak Evacuation Team. He loved spending time with his two younger children and just being Daddy. Vince is survived by his loving wife, April (Mickey) Waller, and their two children, Kaiden and Hannah, of West Newton; his three daughters, Lauren Colgan and her husband, Derek, Leah Waller and Alexandra Waller; his two sons, Adam and Aaron Waller; his two granddaughters, Bella and Saphrine Colgan, all of Latrobe; his sister, Georgina Tiller and her husband, Nicholas; a half brother, James Waller; a niece, Grace Tiller; a nephew, Lucas Tiller; and his lifelong friend, Keith Penny, all of London. He will now be reunited with his mother in heaven. Vince was a wonderful husband, daddy, brother, friend and co-worker. His smile and laughter will never be forgotten. We love you "Mate". Family, fellow officers and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the First Evangelical Free Church, 4001 Universal Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132, located on Penn State Greater Allegheny Campus. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at which time funeral services will be held in the church with Pastor Dan Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, PA 15425. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation, P.O. Box 444, South Park, PA 15129, please indicate in the memo in care of Kaiden and Hannah Waller fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to JOSEPH W.
