He was born August 12, 1935 at Dodge City, the son of Fred and R Mina Speer Schiffner. Albert is a lifetime resident of Ford County and was a farmer.
He married Margaret Wendel, she preceded him in death on November, 6 1999.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Rick Schiffner, Cimarron and Robert Schiffner, Hays; 5 daughters, Trudi Howser, Norman Oklahoma, Judi Sanchez, Ark City, Kansas, Carol Sandars, Dodge City, Lisa Hendricks, Bristow, Oklahoma and Kriste Drieling, Hays; a brother, Floyd Schiffner, St. Louis, Missouri; 3 sisters Ella Simmons, Seattle, Washington, Linney Howard, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Alberta Wilson, Dighton, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Fred and Lloyd Schiffner.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 pm Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The casket will remain closed. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave, Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
