Christian Emil Schmitt, age 17, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday.
He is survived by his mother: Renja Reinig-Schmitt; father: Joachim Reinig; sister: Jackie Schmitt; step father: Gordon Seuell; fiance: Anna Van Staggen; flight instructors: Brant Kyser and Aaron Komara.
Chris was a senior at Columbia High School and was a member of the Junior ROTC as well as a member of the choir. He was also very active in the Warbird Community.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service, with Rev. Dean Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
