Daughter of August and Valborg (Fryklind) Lindroth. After a lengthy illness with cancer she was called "home". She was the youngest of six children. In May 1943, she was confirmed in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Alvarado, MN, and graduated fro Alvarado High School in 1946 with Valedictorian Honors. After graduating from beauty school she was employed at the Kato Beauty Salon in Grand Forks, ND. In the summer of 1952 Verona moved to Beaverton and continued working as a beautician. She was united in marriage to Jack E. Carl on December 19, 1959. She worked as a beautician until the birth of their son, Tom, in 1962. Verona later went back to work as a florist in the Portland area. Verona enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Cedar Hills Garden Club. Her other talents and enjoyments included craft work, cooking and flower arranging. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Verona was an unconditionally loving wife, mother and friend to many. She is survived by her husband, Jack; son, Tom (Judy), and three sisters, Alvina Fry of Tigard; Phyllis Levin of West Vancouver, BC, Canada, and Lylis Falkanger of Grand Forks, ND.
