RUGBY - Katherine Voeller, 94, Rugby, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, in a Rugby nursing home.

Katherine (Bischoff) Voeller, the daughter of Nickolas and Elizabeth (Schwan) Bischoff was born on December 11, 1917 in McHenry County near Berwick, North Dakota. She died at the age of 94 years on Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

Katherine was raised in the home of her parents on the family farm and received her education at a rural school near her home. On November 15, 1937 she was united in marriage to Nat Voeller at St. Anselms Catholic Church at Fulda, North Dakota. Katherine and Nat made their home near the church where the couple built and operated their family farm. In the early years, Katherine was involved in the many of the farms chores and in later years, the growing and preserving of food for the family along with the many daily activities of a farm wife raising seven children. She loved cooking and always enjoyed company and entertaining. In 1972, Katherine and Nat retired and moved into Rugby. There Katherine's passion for quilting began. Nat died July 14, 1983.

Katherine was a member of St. Anselms Catholic Church at Fulda for many years where she was active in the Catholic Order of Foresters and Christian Mothers, and a current member of Little Flower Catholic Church and was active in numerous organizations.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Betty), Rugby; Gladys Voeller, Brainerd, Minnesota; Rolland (Birgit), Breezy Point, Minnesota; Raymond (Judy), Des Moines, Washington; Lloyd (Mary), Rugby; LeRoy (Lori), Devils Lake; and daughter-in-law, Donna Voeller, Fargo; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Halvorson, Bismarck; and Helen Volk, Fargo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nat (died July 14, 1983); an infant daughter; a son, Robert; sisters, Pauline Klause and Lena Kuntz; brothers, Pete, Jack and Vincent Bischoff; and her parents.

Survivors: sons, Richard and Lloyd, both Rugby, Rolland, Breezy Point, Minn., Raymond, Des Moines, Wash., LeRoy, Devils Lake; daughter, Gladys Voeller, Brainerd, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa Halvorson, Bismarck, and Helen Volk, Fargo.

Funeral: Tuesday, 11 a.m., Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby.

Burial: Church cemetery.

Visitation: Today, 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m., and Tuesday, 9 to 10:30 a.m., all in Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby. There will be no reviewal in the church.
