John's first wife was Johanna J. Freie she was also the mother of his children. Clara (nee Miller) Weiser was his second wife there were no children from that marriage.

Obituary of John Zink:
Funeral Services for John Zink Sr. who died suddenly in a Buffalo hospital, Tuesday night at 10:15 o'clock will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Morris, 11 Goethe Street Buffalo, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Reverend G. M. Bock of St. John's Lutheran Church will conduct the service.
Mr. Zink was born in Town Line on January 1, 1879 and was 52 years of age at the time of his untimely demise. All of his life was spent in this community where he had a wide circle of relatives and friends.
He is survived by his four children: Mrs. Clarence Morris of Buffalo: Mrs. Theodore Phillips of Marilla: John Zink Jr. and Alvin of Lancaster: three foster children: Mrs. Joseph Mosack, Mrs. Henry Zink and Howard Weiser: three brothers Arthur and Henry Zink of Lancaster, Frank of Town Line, and one sister, Mrs. Edward Mathis of Town Line.
In fraternal circles, Mr. Zink was a member of the Lancaster Nest No. 120 Fraternal Order Orioles and Lancaster - Depew Lodge 1605 Loyal Order of The Moose. Interment will take place in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
