Funeral Services for Lorraine H. Johnson will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilcox, Nebraska, with Pastor Nathan Abel officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilcox Cemetery near Wilcox.

Lorraine Helen Johnson, 82 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, formerly of Wilcox, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma. Lorraine was born on June 9, 1938, near Atlanta, Nebraska, to Albert and Minnie Johanna (Osterbuhr) Harms. She was baptized and Confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hildreth, Nebraska. Lorraine received her primary education from Hildreth Public Schools and later, attended and graduated from Hildreth High School with the class of 1956.
On August 15, 1957, Lorraine was united in marriage to Hans “Eugene” Johnson in Sundance, Wyoming. To this union four children were born: Michael, Debbie, Lori, and Kari. The family made their home at Sacramento, Nebraska, until 1987 at which time they moved to a ranch near Johnstown, Nebraska. In 2003, Lorraine and Eugene returned to Central Nebraska and resided in Wilcox.
Lorraine enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and crafts. Her greatest love was cooking and baking. She cooked many meals for her family and for the harvest crew in the summers during Eugene’s first career as a custom harvester. Lorraine also loved to bake cookies by the bucket full and give them to her kids and especially her grandkids. Lorraine will always be remembered for her special hugs that always had a little wiggle at the end. She was member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilcox, and was active in their LWML quilting group and bible study.
Lorraine was preceded in death by; her parents; her husband, Eugene in 2011; brother, Delbert Harms; nieces: Denine Harms; and Nancy Weber and her husband, Tom; nephew, Donny Harms; former son-in-law, Steve Jacobson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ruth Johnson; four brothers-in-law: Roger Johnson; Lamont Johnson; LaVern Johnson; and Dale Albright; and her sister-in-law, Elaine Johnson.
Lorraine leaves to celebrate her life: her four children: son, Michael Johnson of Wilcox; three daughters: Debbie Harms and her husband, Brent of Wilcox; Lori Tripe and her husband, Craig of Alma; and Kari Kelley and her husband, Dave of Bloomington, Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with three more on the way; brother Lamoine Harms of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; one sister, Dianne Albright of Kearney, Nebraska; three sisters-in-law: Berniece Clark and her husband, Lon of Holdrege; Phyllis Johnson of Minden, Nebraska; and Dorothy Harms of North Platte, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
