Lamar Randall Herford, Sr.

Lamar Randall Herford, Sr. 92 of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Waxahachie. He was born October 11, 1919 in Beaumont, Texas to George and Winnie Herford.

Lamar served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 as an airplane mechanic. He retired from Mecom Oil Company in 1986 as a oilfield pumper. Lamar was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hitchcock, Texas. He will be remembered as "Never having a bad thing to say about anyone."

He is survived by his son, Randall Herford and his wife, Joyce of Waxahachie; his brothers, Benny Herford and his wife, Imogean of Sour Lake, Texas, Jim Herford and his wife, Juanita of Sour Lake, Texas, Lloyd Herford of Morgan City, LA and Walter Herford of Lindale, Texas; his sisters, Sylvia Jones of Beaumont, Texas and Elva Burlin of Beaumont, Texas; his grandchildren, Pamela Jones and her husband, Patrick of Magnolia, Texas and Jimmy Herford and his wife, Amy of Arlington, Texas; Lamar is also survived by his great grandchildren, Dalton, Emma, Savannah and Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Herford after 64 years of marriage; also by his parents, George and Winnie Herford; by his brothers, George Herford, Edward Herford, August Herford and Henry Herford; and also by his sisters, Winnie Walker and Betty Underwood.

Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Guedry Cemetery, Batson, Texas.http://www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
