Fred married Johanna Wilhelmina (Minnie) Louis. Three of their children, Otto, Altonia, and Gustave were born in Germany. They immigrated from Germany, and settled in the Town of Sumner, Jefferson County, Wisconsin outside of Busseyville. Highway 106 ran through their property with the house and shed located on one side of Highway 106, and the barn llocated on the other side with the majority of property being located on this side. The property is located between Klement Road on Hwy 106 and Klement Road on Hwy A. One of the children, Otto, married one of the Popplow children, Antoina, who lived around the corner on Highway A. The Klement property laid between the Prochnow and Popplow property.
