"Vere H. Multer, a pract(ic)ing attorney in Bingghamton for 50 years died September 20 at Binghamton City hospital where he had been a patient for a month. He was a brother of M. J. Multer of Cooperstown. Mr. Multer was born May 23, 1877 in the town of Worcester, the son of Henry J. and Mary (Hollenbeck) Multer, and attended public schools in Schenevus and Oneonta until was 16, when he operated a general store at South Worcester. After two years, he resumed his schooling and was graduated from Oneonta high school ... In 1937, he formed a law partnership with his son, Henry R. Multer of Binghamton. He was one of the oldest practicing attorneys in Broome County at the time of his death. In addition to his brother and son, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Bieber Multer of Apalachin; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh B. Lott of Eureka, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild."
