Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Catherine Rechtermann of Richmond; James Rechtermann of Ocean City, Massachusetts; and Joseph Rechtermann of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandsons and their spouses, Jeff and Kristina Rechtermann of Hardin, Missouri; and Justin and Sarah Rechtermann of Polo, Missouri; five great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Betty Rechtermann of Mayview, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Betty Buelter of Arvada, Colorado; and Jean Buelter of St. Louis, Missouri; four nieces, seven nephews and many cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmanuel Buelter and Otfried Buelter; one sister, Hildegard Fenske; and one brother-in-law, Bill Fenske. Esther graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne, Nebraska. She then graduated from Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and worked as a Registered Nurse specializing in Geriatric Care for a number of years.
She was a devoted preacher's wife assisting her husband with congregations in the United Church of Christ in Indiana, Missouri, Iowa and Illinois before retiring at Hoskins, Nebraska in 1991.
