Dietmar Hagen Mrosek, age 72 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital. Dietmar was born September 23, 1940 in Niederfeld, Germany. He retired from the US Army following 33 years of distinguished service, which included 2 tours in Vietnam. He had received numerous medals and awards, including the Legion of Merit and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross. Dietmar enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader and was instrumental in the establishment and continued support of an orphanage in Pusan, Korea. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sunae Pak Mrosek of Clarksville; children, Christina Mrosek and husband Hyeon-Seo Paeng of Korea, Anita Crum and husband Robert of Virginia, Bruce Mrosek and wife Rosa of Clarksville, and David Mrosek and Myrna of Japan; grandchildren, Geewon, Jungwon, Kyeongwon, Joshua, Garrett, Samantha, Andrake, Matthew, Grace, Toy Jr., Julie, Bayleigh, and Karinaa. Dietmar was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at the chapel of the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Military Honors will be rendered. The Military will serve as casket bearers. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.
