Christoph Fischer and his family of nine, left Gondelsheim, Germany at 0800 hours, Tues, 14 July 1818, via Preusen-Poland then first to either Stuttgart, Waterloo or Friedrichstal (probably Waterloo or Stuttgart) then to Güldendorf, Odessa, Russia (Source: Gondelsheim Church Family Book 1700-1800, page 72, in Karlsruhe Landeskirchliches Archives, and Dr. Karl Stumpp's book - Emigration from Germany to Russia, 1763-1862 ( Die Auswanderwung aus Deutschland nach Russland in den Jahren 1763 bis 1862) Grossch. bad. Uhz Ur.58 v. 22.7.1818, s. 566.). They left Gondelsheim probably because of three years of bad harvests and Napoleonic Wars. They left Waterloo/Stuttgart around 1829 for Güldendorf where they remained until the early 1840's.
