She was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Gilead, Neb., to John and Christina (Spomer) Pabst.
She graduated from Alexander High School, Alexander, and Fort Hays State University with a teaching certificate and later a bachelor's degree.
She married Lawrence Janke. She taught third and fourth grades in the Rush County school system for 25 years prior to retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Janke, Peach Tree City, Ga., Donald Janke, Wichita, and Michael Janke, Seattle; a daughter, Marsha Lappin, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.
