Another Pioneer Called Home

Mrs. Anna Marie Kohli, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Marie Romang, was born in Switzerland, Sept. 25, 1832. Was baptized in infancy; confirmed at the age of 14 and married in 1850. Came to America in 1866 and settled in Wisconsin. Her husband dying in 1877 she came to Kansas. She settled in Logan township, where she raised her family of 10 children, two daughters and one son preceding her to the grave. She was a charter member of St. John's Lutheran church and on March 31, 1915, transferred her membership to St. Paul's Lutheran, Minneapolis. She received her last holy sacrament of the altar Jan. 9th, and was calmly awaiting the message of her Lord, "Come home." She raised all her children in the church and has lived to see all active, loyal members of the body of Christ. At the time of her death was 83 years, 5 months and 23 days old. Her funeral was conducted from St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday, by her pastor and burial was made in Delphos Cemetery. She died on Friday at about 9:00 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Stelter. She was a faithful and true member of the Lutheran Church for many years.
