The monument to the Ninth Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment is south of Gettysburg on Sykes Avenue at the northern foot of Big Round Top. It was dedicated in 1885 by the State of Massachusetts.
The 9th Massachusetts was commanded at the Battle of Gettysburg by Colonel Patrick R. Guiney. It brought 474 men to the field.
